Prestressed Concrete Design - 7 - Example 4 - Stress/Deflection using Force-in-the-Tendon
This example problem is part of Module 7 in my Prestressed Concrete Design course on calculating stresses using the force-in-the-tendon approach, which is the approach most commonly used. This example goes through how to calculate stresses using gross sections at midspan and at the ends of the beam at release, due to sustained loads, and due to service loads. Prestress losses are calculated using the PCI Design Handbook approach. Deflections are calculated using the PCI Multiplier method.
