Precision Matthews PM 1228 Lathe DIY Forward, Reverse, and Neutral Spring Loaded Lever

The PM-1228 has power feed on both the X and Y axis but reversing it involves opening the machine, loosening a bolt, manually moving the gear assembly and retightening the bolt. Not a major inconvenience but over the life of the machine will add up to quite a lot of time. A far better option is to add a lever and locking mechanism so you can easily "shift on the fly". The design I came up with is my own however I was inspired by similar mods done by @JoesModelEngines & @bruceang82 Both f there videos have good information and are worth watching.
