Precast Concrete - 3 - Example 1 - Precast Beam Design
This example problem is in Module 3 of my Precast Concrete Design course (Buildings - Beams). This example goes through a full design for flexure (including stress, strength, minimum reinforcement, and deflection checks) and shear for a prestressed, precast beam spanning 61 feet using a double-tee beam (10DT26). The PCI Design Handbook is used for help with the preliminary design and section properties. Design criteria from ACI 318-19 are used in this example.
