This is where perseverance takes over as we pack it in for terrain that isn’t difficult, but punishingly rough as we make our way to the Grand Canyon and back to our sheltered camp in the trees. Mother nature has a surprise for us, and we battle the elements while struggling with fuel and tire issues on the frozen roadways, hoping to make it out before the roads thaw and we are mired in the infamous north rim clay mud.
