Plane Crashes into Box Truck at LAX

Box Truck Gets Knocked Over by a Plane at LAX! Finally, something we HAVE NOT seen yet! I've lifted planes and I've done box truck rollovers. But I've never done a box truck rollover after being hit by a plane. This job checked off all the boxes and was probably one of my favorite ones from the past year just because of how unique it was. Even if you take the plane out of the equation, I've never done one where the box truck was on an elevated hydraulic platform, and with the outriggers sticking out. This made uprighting the truck particularly difficult and the only real way to do it without causing more damage was to barrel roll it. Alex used Big Flipper, our 75ton rotator, to control the box since Flipper has the larger boom of 42'. And we still barely made it even with Alex fully boomed out. I used Hulk, my 50ton rotator, to assist by using an equalizing sling on the front to control the cab. The fun didn't stop once upright, since the platform above the cab was broken and the company wanted me to take it off. That part was pretty easy, and once off I rotated to my front to set it on a flatbed for transport. Overall it was yet another fun and technical job that I'm glad we got the pleasure of handling.
