Placing Amaryllis Bulbs Into Dormancy
Late Summer is the time to place your amaryllis bulbs into dormancy so that they bloom again during the winter months. In this video, I show you how to place your Amaryllis into dormancy so that they can rebloom. Amaryllis bulbs need a small amount of care but it's worth it if you want bulbs to bloom year after year!

Here is a general timeline to follow:
January - February: Plant amaryllis on a bright windowsill; water; fertilize
March - May: Remove spent blooms; keep on a bright windowsill; water; fertilize
May - June: Plant outside after frost (in ground or in pots; fertilize.
August - September: Lift bulbs, place in cool and dry location for 6-10 weeks; do not water; 50-55 Fahrenheit
November - December: Clean bulbs; plant in pots with fresh potting mix; start watering; Place on a bright windowsill; 70-75 Fahrenheit; bulbs should bloom in about 8 weeks
