Pioneer PD-103 CD player... with surprises inside

This Pioneer PD-103 CD player undeniably has many interesting features, but it's a typically bland mid-'90s model that leaves me cold. It lacks character and charm, but did at least throw up some problems I wasn't anticipating and left me wondering what had happened to it.
