PIERRE BOULEZ interviewed in Hilton Amsterdam 0ct 28 1995/video Bas Andriessen

On october 28 in 1995 dutch music journalists Maarten Brandt & Paul Janssen interviewed composer PIERRE BOULEZ in the Hilton hotel in Amsterdam. As I was definitely going to attend that talk, I asked (and received) permission to film it. Because it is mr Boulez's birthday this week (he will be 88) I decided to upload this very interesting conversation here on You Tube, in which he talks about composers he conducted works of like Webern, Debussy, Ligeti, Carter, Birtwistle and Kurtag. Of course he was also asked about his own composing and aspects concerning it. The quality (especially the sound) isn't a 100%, nevertheless I think this registration will have an appeal to the admirers of mr Boulez's music, as to musicologists and other seriously interested people in (the development of) contemporary composed music.
