Old Gun Restoration | ТОZ-34 |
In this video, I am restoring the TOZ-34 shotgun 1986. This is a reliable 12-gauge Soviet hunting rifle with vertical barrels. This gun has a good condition of the barrel and all internal mechanisms, however, there were many scuffs on the outside, and the wood was just in a terrible state. I decided to make the buttstock and forearm out of walnut. I chose a suitable blank and began to cut the butt. 90% is handmade with a chisel. Of particular difficulty was the fitting of the butt to the guns, so that nothing would jam anywhere during reloading and firing. Next, I made decorative notches on the butt. To do this, I used special cutters. In the end, all the wooden parts were covered with tung oil. I then sanded and polished the outer surfaces of all the metal parts and treated them with cold bluing compound.
As always, happy to answer any questions!
