Nirvana is an American rock band founded in 1987 by Kurt Cobain (vocalist, guitarist) and Krist Novoselic (bass) in Aberdeen, Washington. The album "Nevermind" (1991) with the hit song "Smells Like Teen Spirit" brought Nirvana to new heights, becoming a symbol of the younger generation and alternative music.
