Navigating Digital Safety: Exploring Security and Trust in Online Spaces for Young Australians
On 27 November, the Australian Strategic Policy Institute was delighted to host an important discussion on digital safety with the Future of Privacy Forum and AARNet. The discussion, moderated by the Future of Privacy Forum's Vice President for US Policy Amie Stepanovich, featured key insights from Ben Au, Head of Public Policy for Australia and New Zealand at Snap Inc, Dr John Coyne, Director of National Security Programs at ASPI, Dr Huon Curtis, Founding Partner of the Digital Resilience Network and Mandy Ross, Director of Strategic Partnerships (Defence) at Monash University. The event explored current and emerging security challenges and how we can create a safer digital environment for young Australians. The panellists also considered policy proposals to regulate data, and the impact that these proposals could have on trust and security.
