Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart had a special connection with the horn, composing some of the most significant works for the instrument in the Classical repertoire. This bond was influenced by his friendship with Joseph Leutgeb, a virtuoso horn player who was a close friend of Mozart and the dedicatee of several of his compositions. Mozart's works for the horn showcase its lyrical and virtuosic qualities, pushing the limits of what was possible on the natural horn of the time.
