Moscow - Rybinsk: a long-distance train that returned after 25 years, but gone again

Savelovsky railway station in Moscow today is used only by suburban trains. However, in the Soviet years, long-distance trains also departed from here, one of which was from Moscow to Rybinsk. After the collapse of the USSR, all trains, except Moscow - Rybinsk, were transferred to other stations. In 1998 the train was transferred to the nearby Belorussky railway station, and in this way, Savelovsky station was left alone with the suburban trains. In 2021, the train began to depart from the new Vostochny Station, and it got to the Savelovskoye direction along the connecting branch. In January 2023, repairs began on this branch, so the train came back to Savelovsky Station for a short time after 25 years. The train departed every Friday from January 13 to February 17, each time gathering crowds of railway fans around it.
