Remove the battery and memory card. Unscrew all the exterior screws. The screws are not the same length, so it's better to keep them in separate containers or place them on a table like a map. Unscrew the two small screws and remove the viewfinder rubber piece. Carefully disconnect the ribbon cables and take out the back panel. Disconnect all the ribbon cables. Be careful with that thick flash cable. It may still hold a charge from the flash capacitor. Take out the top part. There is a thin cable that you need to disconnect. Take out the logic board. Take out the battery compartment. Separate the shutter assembly from the front panel. Measure and write down the sensor distance from the camera chassis at three points. We will need to shift the sensor forward by 1 mm. Unscrew the three sensor screws and take out the sensor. Remove the first filter. Be careful with that ribbon cable. File down the three posts on the shutter assembly by about one millimeter. This is because those posts are too high and prevent the sensor from shifting forward. You can cut out the ultrasonic resonator and attach it to the sensor. If not, just disable sensor cleaning in the camera’s menu. To take out the second filter, unscrew the three screws on the back. Do not touch anything, and quickly place it back. Do not keep it upright, as dust will settle on it. With the help of the gauge that we used before, shift the sensor forward by one millimeter. Secure the three sensor screws with a drop of glue. Assemble the camera. Be careful with that thick flash cable. It’s better to push it in with a piece of plastic. Never use a metal screwdriver for this. The conversion is complete.
