May 7, 2024 Michigan Tornado Coverage from WOOD-TV

Storm Team 8 tracked several strong tornadoes through Southwest Michigan on May 7, 2024. Portage took a direct hit from an EF-2, with estimated winds of 130 mph. Sherwood was hit by a separate EF-2, also with winds of 130 mph. Two other EF-1 tornadoes were recorded. While more than 15 people had minor injuries, there were no reported fatalities. Storm Team 8 meteorologists Ellen Bacca, Sara Flynn, Blake Harms & Scott Larson tracked the tornadoes as they moved through.
