Marcelle Meyer (Lille, 22.05.1897 - Paris, 17.11.1958): French pianist. Studied with her sister, and at the Conservatory of Paris with Alfred Cortot and Marguerite Long. She awarded the Premier Prix at age 16. Further studies with Ricardo Viñes and Claude Debussy. She had a life-long interest in modern music from composers like Erik Satie, componists from the Groupe des Six, Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Igor Stravinsky, Manuel de Falla and Paul Hindemith. She also championed the playing of baroque music: J.S. Bach, Jean-Philippe Rameau, François Couperin, Domenico Scarlatti.
She started recording in 1925 for Gramophone, 1929 for Columbia and Pleyel, 1938 and 1943 Gramophone, and 1946-1957 for Les Discophiles Français.
