Making a Surface Gauge (Part 1) || INHERITANCE MACHINING

Join me in the machine shop for part 1 of making a surface gauge. Surface gauges are precision instruments that have a lot of uses, but in the near future I will need to use it as a squareness comparator. I can do so by setting this up on the surface plate with a dial indicator. This precision machining project will require nearly all of my machine tools, including the metal lathe, vertical milling machine, surface grinder, and vertical bandsaw. I’ll also be restoring my massive rotary table and using it and a coaxial indicator for the first time.
