Lumix G9 Focus Stacking for Landscapes
With the newer Lumix 4K and 6K cameras like the Lumix G9 it's now possible to get focus stacking for landscapes, right in the camera. And it’s really easy to get stacked images right in the camera…. If you’ve been following me for awhile you know I always try to get things right in the camera, so I don’t have to spend so much time editing my photos. #LumixG9 #FocusStacking #6KPhoto In this video I’m using the new Lumix G9 camera but all of the newer 4K and 6K Lumix cameras have the post-focus and focus stacking feature built in. Limitations: Internally processed focus stacking uses the Lumix 4K and 6K modes. Basically you’re shooting a video and extracting frames. As a result you are limited to 4K or 6K sized photos. If you need larger photos you may want to do manual focus stacking — taking individual photos and merging to one file in Photoshop. But that’s a lot of extra work. You can’t use raw files in 4K or 6K mode either. Again because these are video files. If you need to shoot raw files, then you’ll have to shoot your series of photos using different focus points, and then do your focus stacking manually using Photoshop or other photo editing software. If you only need your photos for website, social media, and small print materials – such as real estate, or a catalogue of products – the Lumix in-camera focus stacking will be perfect and will save you a ton of time editing your photos. Benefits of focus stacking: You can manipulate the depth of field more precisely than with camera optics alone. Example, if you want your background to suddenly drop out of focus, you can do that using a big f/stop and focus stacking. ——— Photo Editing Software I use – Adobe Lightroom CC – Luminar 2018 for Mac Use this link to download a trial version of Luminar 2018 – http://macphun.evyy.net/c/465106/320119/3255 Want a discount?
