The Orthodox Church Museum of Finland (also known as RIISA) is one of the most significant Orthodox museums in Europe. It is located in Kuopio, Finland, and preserves the heritage of the Finnish Orthodox Church. History & Background: • The museum was founded in 1957 to safeguard and display the rich history of Orthodox Christianity in Finland. • It houses artifacts from the Karelian Orthodox tradition, which was deeply affected by the turmoil of World War II.
