Let's begin kinematics by learning about the simplest type of motion: when objects move in a straight line, known as linear motion or one dimensional (1D) motion. This could be horizontal or vertical motion. In this video we're going to cover the essential parts of motion that we'll use for the rest of physics: position, displacement, velocity and acceleration. We'll learn the concepts, the kinematic equations and how we can make position graphs, velocity graphs, and acceleration graphs.
