Legacy For the Community (with captions)
In founding The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, Jeannette Genius McKean (1909-89) was continuing a history of family philanthropy dating back to when her grandfather Charles Hosmer Morse began visiting the small town of Winter Park, Florida, in the latter part of the 19th century. She and her husband, Hugh F. McKean (1908-95), built for the Morse the most comprehensive collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany anywhere and endowed it so that it would forever serve the community they loved as a source of cultural enrichment and education.
