Lecture 4: Beam Design (Part 2) - laterally restrained steel beam example

This is part of the lecture series for CE3104 Design of Structures II at the National University of Ireland Galway given by Professor Jamie Goggins, which focuses on the design of steel structures to Eurocodes. This lecture covers the design of laterally restrained steel beams with checks carried out according to EN1993-1-1. Through a design example, checks on local buckling, shear and shear buckling, bending moments, combined moments and shear and deflection are completed in accordance to Eurocode 3 (EN1993-1-1).
