👉🏽 Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/@LeaferLoves?sub_confirmation=1 It is totally possible to learn to longboard in your 40s and beyond! In this video I share tips and tricks that have helped me learn to longboard at the age of 46. Camera shakes due to my 12 y/o son filming. (Very nice of him! He's a wonderful kid and I'm so grateful for his help with this video!) Sorry about that, we'll use a tripod in next video! 🔗👁‍🗨 *If you enjoy this video and want to support me as a YouTuber, please leave a comment and consider watching and commenting on my other videos as well! 😎 Also please share any of the videos on my channel with friends who would be interested! 💌 Please know that I am so very grateful for all your support!* 🥰💬 Chapters for your convenience! 00:00 Learning to longboard at 46 00:20 My goals in learning to longboard 00:50 Yoga warmups 01:38 How I first taught myself (cheap-o skateboard) 02:23 Yoga helps with balance (needed for longboarding) 02:35 Goofy vs. regular stance 02:48 Try it on grass! 03:05 How to stand on the board as a beginner 03:12 It's easy! For me, tricks are not what I am really going for. I just like the feeling of cruising on a rolling deck. Skateboarding is really for people that want to get a little more creative (aka crazy). I am into mellow and smooth riding. I'm not a "great" longboarder by any means. Still trying to improve. Longboarding has proven to be a fun hobby for me over quarantine. During the pandemic it has been a great way to get outside while staying socially distanced. My son has gotten in on it too, after watching me learn for a couple of months he started to skateboard! Which is wonderful! He does all kinds of tricks and is way better than I am at it now! He does both skateboarding with tricks, and longboarding. If you are thinking of learning to longboard, give it a shot! If you are just beginning or scared of falling, definitely consider wearing safety gear. If you aren't sure if you are strong enough to handle this type of physical activity, check with your doctor before you begin. Listen to your body, make smart choices, and stay safe out there. Most of all, enjoy your journey to longboarding! -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "When Trolls Hurt Your Feelings.
