Layers - letting parts of some go while adding more - the delicate balance or risk and trust

Layers used to baffle me for years. How do you get them, see through them, utilize them in the creative process? It’s obvious now that you need to create layers to start answering those questions. But, the rest of the answers have been discovered over time, exploration, experience,… and I’m not done yet. The thing I love about creating my art is that it is mine. It’s a personal journey where I follow my curiosity and ideas. I don’t use techniques I’ve learned from others. I discover them on my own which is a big part of the intrigue for me. And the search. The search for what I like in my creative process and what resonates with me. This is just a snippet of the search, me seeking composition, exploring colour, shape, line, and me.
