Isle of Skye
The Isle of Skye is the largest of the Inner Hebrides. The island has a series of peninsulas radiating out from a centre dominated by the mighty Cuillin mountains. We stayed on Skye for 4 nights after our trip to the Outer Hebrides.
After the peace and tranquillity of those Western Isles, Skye came something as a shock. It is now rather too busy for its infrastructure, with badly pot-holed single-track roads rammed with motorhomes and cars (often misusing passing places), and full car parks and eateries.
However, its scenery is still awesome and quieter spots can still be found if you know where to go.
It also rained a lot and the footage in this video reflects our practice of chasing the brighter weather on the island which has several microclimates. Some obvious places are missed out purely because of poor weather.
