Is Black Bear Pass REALLY that bad? Jeep Wranglers go to find out!!

In July of 2020, some friends gathered for a pilgrimage to the San Juan Mountains of Southern Colorado. We spent a week on the high mountain passes and trails including Imogene, Mineral Springs, Engineer, California Gulch, Corkscrew Gulch and, in this installment, the infamous Black Bear Pass. Black Bear, with its numerous switchbacks and steep thousand foot drop offs has become known as one of the most challenging trails in the US. . .and it should be on your bucket list!! Our team consisted of three couples and a few kiddos driving 2 Jeep JLURs and 1 TJ. I am sad to say that we have nearly 100 years of experience between us.
