Introduction to Propensity Score Matching
In this video, we'll cover Propensity Score Matching (PSM), a popular method for estimating the causal effect of an intervention or treatment in impact assessment. We'll start with an introduction to Impact Assessment and why it's important to accurately measure the impact of programs and policies. Then, we'll dive into PSM, explaining what it is, how it works, and the different types of matching techniques. We'll also explore the advantages and limitations of PSM compared to other methods of impact assessment. Finally, we'll walk through a hands-on demonstration of how to use PSM in Stata, a statistical software package commonly used by social scientists. By the end of this video, you'll have a better understanding of PSM and how to apply it in your own impact assessment projects.
The video was recorded during an online webinar organized by ICAR- NIAP, New Delhi, and also available on their FB page.
