Interview with Sheriff Bob Peryam May 12, 2025

Faith Morrison from the League of Women Voters of the Copper Country interviewed Sheriff Bob Peryam, a Hancock native and former officer of the South Range Police Department, who spent more than 30 years in law enforcement in Florida, eventually 4 years as sheriff of Monroe County. They spoke about his experience as sheriff under a Federal Government consent decree, imposed on Monroe County for over 30 years due to their having allowed their jail to decay to unacceptable conditions, as determined by a class action lawsuit.
