Innovation Conference: Michael Kagan, CTO at NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA)
Watch this exclusive interview with Michael Kagan, CTO at @NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA).
Michael is a tech visionary who played a pivotal role at @Intel as Chief Architect, where he was responsible for the development of the 860 XP processor and Pentium MMX. During our conversation, we delved into the fascinating process of chip development in his time at @Intel and discussed his famous saying: “Chips without software are just expensive sand.” We also explored the key differences between developing hardware vs. software.
Following his incredible journey at Intel, Michael co-founded @mellanox and served as the CTO. Mellanox was later acquired by @NVIDIA for $6.9B, back when NVIDIA was valued at $93B. A little math trivia—6.9B + 93B = 3T! But what was it like in those early days of Mellanox?
As @NVIDIA continues to push boundaries in #ai and #tech, its recent acquisitions of Run:ai and Deci in Israel highlight its strategy to accelerate innovation. We discussed whether in-house development or M&A is the best path forward, and what this means for NVIDIA’s future. Finally, we explored what’s next for NVIDIA and its transformative role in shaping the world.
