Industrial port with ships, railroad, grime and rust: HO Scale Model Train Layout by Erik de Boeck
The model railroad layouts built by Erik de Boeck in HO scale are always characterized by weathered locomotives, dirty freight wagons and rusty industrial plants. Another feature is the particularly detailed landscape design. Under the project name “Remise en Scène”, Erik de Boeck builds railroad modules and train dioramas that can be combined with each other. These modules depict an industrial port with shunting tracks, crane systems, boats and cargo ships. One reason why Erik de Boeck’s model railroad layouts have all been featured in European model railroading magazines is that he always builds his miniature worlds from recycled materials. He calls it “Low Budget Model Building”. He amazingly creates all kinds of constructions from cardboard, wood and even from aluminum food trays. Therefore, the model train layout, presented in this video, was built with old rails and old turnouts by Lima extended with a third rail. The diorama is completely self-built with home and garden materials. In a nutshell: Pure scratch building or rail transport modeling from scratch! *Pilentum Television* https://www.pilentum.org
