Increase Realism in Your Drawings | Weekly Scribble

If you want to take your drawings to the next level, this video is going to be really useful :) One of the biggest challenges when it comes to drawing realistic animals with coloured pencils is getting your layering and blending right so that the fur looks credible. I did this half-and-half black lab to show how, with careful blending and laying and concentrating on the all-important values, you can take your drawings to a different level. I’m very keen to point out that there is no wrong or right when it comes to drawing, however realism really does come from understanding the structure of what you’re drawing and capturing the quality of the fur or hair.
