Ian McKellen on internalised homophobia: 'The cruellest directors I've worked with were gay'
In a new interview with Attitude, Sir Ian McKellen discussed his new film, The Critic, and his character Jimmy's internalised homophobia.
"The most cruel directors I've worked with were gay," he told us. "I therefore forgave them."
In The Critic, Ian plays a sharp-tongued theatre critic who eviscerates stage star Nina (Gemma Arterton) with his pen.
