I Flew to Texas, Bought a Truck, and Drove My CAR LIFT 1,500 Miles Back to California
In this episode I continue the work on my garage renovation project. I originally purchased my car lift expecting to pick it up at a warehouse only a few hours from my house. But after finding out it wasn't available at the California warehouse, I decide to take a roadtrip to pick it up at the next nearest location in Texas. I get a one-way ticket and fly from Los Angeles to Dallas and search Facebook Marketplace for a cheap truck and trailer to buy so I can pick up my car lift at the Texas warehouse. After securing a beat-up Chevy Silverado and a cheap flatbed, I load up my 3,500 lb, 17 ft long double wide four post car lift and start on the 1,500 mile journey back to Southern California. Along the way I deal with flash floods, a blown out trailer tire, and engine problems with my 5.3 LS. Me and my old pickup truck embark on an adventure to the Texas Panhandle, through New Mexico, across the Arizona desert, and back to California. 00:00 - Intro 02:38 - I Bought a Chevy Silverado 5.3 LS For $3,500 05:36 - Buying a Double Axle Flatbed Trailer for $1,000 06:58 - Picking Up My New Amgo 4-Post Car Lift 08:23 - Preparing To Trailer My Car Lift 1,500 Miles From Texas To California 10:01 - I Got My Trailer In A Parking Lot Backing Up 10:46 - How Much Gas Mileage Does a Silverado 5.3 V8 Get Towing 5,000lbs? 12:02 - I Blew Out My Trailer Tire in the Middle of Nowhere in the Texas Panhandle 13:45 - I Drove My Flat Trailer Tire 20 Miles and It's Toast 15:58 - I Got Caught in a Flash Flood in Texas While Roadtripping Back To California 16:12 - Driving in a Flash Flood In Amarillo, Texas 18:00 - Fixing My Trailer Tire in a Parking Lot on My Roadtrip From Texas to California 21:28 - High Winds and Flood Damage in Amarillo, Texas 22:24 - Spray Painting at the Cadillac Ranch Outside Amarillo, Texas 24:22 - Bad Engine Ticking in My 5.3 LS Truck Engine
