Hunting & Cooking: Two Iconic British Species | Game Eater | E7
I’m in Northumberland today, on Bywell Estate, with the legend Alan Edwards and current Allenheads Conservation Manager Albert Barber. We’re going after two species: the hare and English partridge - two of Britain’s countryside icons. The wind is howling, early plans fall by the wayside, and we're made to work for our supper. (Spoiler alert, I shoot three partridges with two shots!). Then we’ve got two cooks on the bank of the River Tyne, braised hare ragù and Kentucky fried English partridge, finishing in the pitch black. All in all, a pretty epic day.
