And as a thank you, I’ll be giving away a set of "FIT Scrubs" (what I wear)(https://fitscrubs.com) to a lucky winner. I truly appreciate you all! Thank you for supporting me and believing in me to help you along your journey.**
In this video, I go over how to do a routine 4-5 view C-spine x-ray. At my facility, the Fuchs and swimmers are used to the technologist’s discretion. If the odontoid is not seen in its entirety, a Fuchs may be used. If the lower levels of the C-spine cannot be seen, then a swimmers may be used. These views I demonstrate are used as routine, and NOT on a trauma patient nor anyone with a suspected fracture. I plan on making videos of a trauma situations hopefully soon.
Don’t be discouraged if you’re taking too long on your c-spines. I would say 15 minutes would be ideal for beginners. Then eventually under 10 minutes. I average around 7 minutes now (depending on patient condition).
Ultimately, if you’re like me, the process becomes easier once you start understating concepts and it becomes fun! Yes.. Fun! I take pride in knowing that something I once viewed difficult is now easy.
REMEMBER take it one day at a time. Month to month. As long as you’re progressing and learning you’re good!
HAPPY POSITIONING!
