How to Split a Hive | Step-by-step tutorial from a Beekeeper [Beekeeping 201] - SPRING 2022

Spring is here, which means it's time to learn how to split a hive! This technique allows you to control the "swarm" and gives the flexibility needed for a successful hive split on YOUR time. In this step-by-step beekeeping tutorial we temporarily place the queen of a hive in a queen catcher (clip), and utilize resources from the current hive to start and supplement the split hive.
