How to Replace Furnace Power Switch With an Outlet

How to replace a furnace power switch with an outlet. In this video I show you how to wire in an outlet to your furnace instead of the power switch. When you install an outlet box on your furnace and hook up a power cable pigtail to it, you are essentially turning your furnace into a plug in appliance, like a refrigerator. This way if there is ever a power outage, you will be able to unplug your furnace from the grid power and plug it into a generator to get you heat.
