This week's exciting video is about making a temporary workshop floor using local earth soil mixed with cement to make an earth cement, aka soil-cement floor.
After watching this video you will know how to do it yourself and you will be able to save a lot of money if you use this method.
The total cost: labor and the cement powder, (dependant if you can get the soil for free, or you already have it in your backyard).
A special thanks to Dalton Hardware (Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa) for sponsoring the cement.
For all your building & household requirements, visit Dalton Hardware or contact Rakesh on +27 82 457 6047 or +27 33 501 1098.
It turned out that the soil I used was 3 cubic meters (or roughly 3000kg). To add a 10% mixture of cement, required 300kg of cement. Which translates to 6 x 50kg bags.
Formula = for every 10 parts of soil, add 1 part cement.
