HOW TO FIND AND SEE A FLOCCULENT GALAXY
Let's look at this amazing galaxy, NGC 3521, a flocculent spiral galaxy in Leo. It's hard to find because it is not close to anything bright but if you can find it by locating two magnitude 5 star nearby, it's well worth the search. This is a bright and beautiful galaxy with a lot of detail. And you can see it with even a small telescope like a 90mm refractor if the sky is dark enough. Keep in mind that galaxies require dark skies. If you want to look for the famous Leo Trio of galaxies instead of NGC 3521, you can watch this video where I explain how to find them: https://youtu.be/fjznZrHPcAA
