DESCRIPTION
Since I come from a strong 3ds Max + Vray background, I have very much gotten use to an HDRI workflow. That is why I am so happy to have a similar workflow in Unreal Engine, but with real time adjustment. Real time makes everything more fun.
In this video I go over how to use an HDRI workflow in UE5, and demonstrate how you can use it to easily and quickly add more interest and drama to a scene. To me, it is usually the most effective way to light any exterior scene, and it works very well for interiors too. I love that you colors and reflections in the scene always match the lighting perfectly. I also love that you can instantly change the whole mood of an image by simply finding a new HDRI with a different lighting scenario. UE5 makes this all super easy with the HDRI backdrop, but there are a few tips and tricks that you need to know.
If you're looking to create high-quality 3D scenes, then you'll want to check out this HDRI lighting tutorial. In just a few minutes, you'll be able to create realistic lighting with HDRI in Unreal Engine 5!
