This video teaches how to compose a counter melody against a given melody in a
1:1 rhythmic proportion (also known as note-against-note, or first species counterpoint). This was the method that many of the great classical composers used to learn the essentials of voice-leading in Western music, including Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven.
