In this video, I teach about IV crush and how to buy back a covered call after earnings to lock in profits.
Do you have to buy back your covered call? No. You can actually let your contract expire by the expiration date.
However, some people like to buy back option contracts to reduce their risk of selling their shares. People usually do this when they're able to buy back the contract for a LOWER price than they initially sold it for.
