How to Build a Wooden Chair: Step-by-Step Guide. Woodworking.
In this video, I’ll guide you through the process of crafting a chair. For this project, I’m working with ash wood, which I had previously prepared using the Felder band saw, as shown in an earlier video. The first step involves making templates out of plywood. These templates play a vital role in the project by offering a visual representation of the finished piece or its components before production starts. This approach helps to pinpoint potential issues, adjust designs, and enhance the final outcome early in the process, ultimately saving both time and resources. Plywood templates are also handy for verifying the furniture's dimensions and proportions.
Once the templates are ready, I’ll proceed to cut the ash wood using a circular saw. For the sanding process, I utilized both handheld sanders and stationary tools like drum sanders and belt sanders to achieve a smooth finish. To join the parts, I opted for the Festool Domino, which ensures strong and accurate connections. For the finishing touch, I used Osmo oil-wax to enhance and protect the wood.
