Top Fuel Dragsters are some of the fastest cars on the planet. But 11,000 horsepower doesn't do you any good if you have no way to put it to the ground. I made a video about the incredible engineering behind the engines of Top Fuel cars, and today I wanted to talk about the other incredible aspect of these cars... The tires. The tires used on Dragsters and Funny Cars are incredible, but why are they soft? Why do they wrinkle like that when the car launches and how do they stretch out at high speeds? And how was Michelin able to create the world's first production tire able to reach 300MPH?
