In the mid-to-late 1980's, I worked as a professional club DJ, playing some of the largest nightclubs in Toronto. In this video, I show the basics of mixing/beatmixing vinyl, the way we did it back then. I talk about the mechanics of the mix, turntable control, as well as phrasing, keys and the knowledge of music theory.
