🛠️ Step-by-Step Tutorial
- Open your main Gmail account
- Click the ⚙️ gear icon → See all settings
- Go to the Accounts and Import tab
- Scroll to “Check mail from other accounts” → click “Add a mail account”
- Enter the email address you want to pull into your Gmail inbox
- Choose the POP3 option, then fill in:
- Username: Full email address
- Password: (see app password below if you have 2-Step Verification on)
✅ Check “Always use a secure connection (SSL)”
✅ Optional: Check “Leave a copy of retrieved message on the server”
- Click Add Account
⚠️ Troubleshooting POP3 Errors
If you get:
“Server denied POP3 access for the given username and password”, here’s what to do:
🔐 Enable POP in the account you’re trying to pull from:
👉 https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#settings/fwdandpop
– Choose either “Enable POP for all mail” or “Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on”
– Click Save Changes
🔒 Check if 2-Step Verification is on:
👉 https://myaccount.google.com/security
If it’s ON, your regular password won’t work.
🔑 Generate an App Password here:
👉 https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords
– Choose “Mail” as the app, and type something like “POP3” for the device
– Google will give you a 16-digit password — copy and use that instead
