Cyclo-cross is a brutal sport, involving a mixture of terrain and brutal, lung-busting efforts on a bike with no suspension and narrow tyres. But often the hardest part is the racecourse, and none compare to the infamous Zonhoven sandpit in Belgium. Zonhoven forms part of the Telenet Superprestige cyclocross series which is the premier professional series in Belgium, and the course has huge, steep sandbanks which challenge even the best professional cyclists...
