How Good is the Nikon D500 in 2024?

The Nikon D500 was highly acclaimed when launched in 2016. Since then it has gained a reputation for being an incredible camera for birds, wildlife and action, but how good is it in 2024? Can it still compete with the mirrorless alternative available?
