A large part of how teenagers learn, interact and make sense of the world is shaped by the devices. Yet, it’s easy to get lost in the mass of entertainment and other content available online. What happens then when they are cut off from their devices? What happens when we make 5 teens swop their smartphones for a brick phone for 10 days?
In this episode, celeb couple Darren Lim and Evelyn Tan sign their teenage sons up for the detox and share their struggles with the boys’ screen habits. We also put a call out for other teens to participate and had an expected number respond.
And for the first time, we conduct a nationwide survey to find out just how long teens spend with their devices and what their attitudes and expectations are about their screen time.
