So, we have to use the next best thing is we are going to compare their careers completely. That would be goals saved above average (GSAA). It’s not a 1-for-1 comparison, but beggars can’t be overfastidious. Luongo’s first seven years add up to an awesome 172.7 goals saved above average. BUT if even if you add that one to his GSAx, it still doesn’t beat out Hernik Lundqvist if you account for his GSAA pre-2007 as well. In fact, the gap is still about as wide as Jonathan Quick’s entire career (~30 GSAx). A breakdown of macro’s both their full career stats also favor Lundqvist. So without any disrespect to Luongo, there can only be one crown.
